If you have any compliments or complaints to MSDN Support, feel free to contact Febru8:59 AM Where, You can find that it is listed there. To verify the same, You can go to Control Panel -> Programs -> Programs and Features -> Uninstall or change Program. It will install the AccessDatabaseEngine successfully. C:\Users\v-padee\Desktop\AccessDatabaseEngine.exe /quiet (2) Open the Command prompt as Administrator. (1) Download the Microsoft Access Database Engine 2016 Redistributable Instead perform a /quiet install of these components from command line. If Office 365 is already installed, side by side detection will prevent the installation from proceeding. When I directly try to install Microsoft Access Database Engine 2016 Redistributable, I got same error as yours. I made this test using Office 365 pro plus. This 'Office 16 Click-to-run Extensibility Component' is not listed in Control Panel, nor does it appear to be listed under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products. I've downloaded the 32-bit version of the component above but when I try to install it fails because apparently I have a 64-bit Office product installed (see screenshot). The PC has Office 365 ProPlus and all Office applications are 32-bit and 2016. If you try to do that in libreoffice base you'd be programming for years and make many mistakes.I'm trying to install the Microsoft Access Database Engine 2016 Redistributable. you can set an external view on text-files and use complex joins between those without any programming. Personally I have used access mainly for ad-hoc querying on txt files and you cannot get it much better than that. It will be interestiing to see how it develops. Particularly when rdbms-parts are moved to server-RDBMSs. I have seen MS-Access solutions made by groups of people over years that cost-wise can easily clobber much more expensive solutions and handle quite serious amounts of data. The disadvantages are that you cannot separate data-management / DBA tasks off from developers. The advantages are that a not too highly trained employee or group of employees can have very efficient databases with full control. MS is promising to continue supporting it. People are still paying for the old version and there is so much code in it, that will not easily change. SQL-server or other RDBMSs will separate the data / tables from the rest and only allow access and return results without the users touching the original files. The requirment that a user can access the files makes it scary. MS-access databases can be put on a server and then several people sharing the file, but it does mean that one virus can wipe out a lot of work. SQL RDBMSs are not filebased storage and MS-Acess is not a SQL-DBMS. Spreadsheets are reporting tools with some data-entry and unstructured/un-modelled information. Databases are not spreadsheets.ĭatabases are for data-processing so they can validate input by user A while user B is also inputting data.
